Decolonizing the Mind
Own education
Educational autonomy: our own pedagogies, intergenerational transmission and community-controlled education.
Law 70 of 1993 mandated an ethno-education policy for Black communities, and Decree 1122 of 1998 made the Afro-Colombian Studies Curriculum compulsory in every school in the country. Almost three decades later, its application remains uneven.
We produce teaching material, train educators and accompany institutions that want to comply in earnest. Education on our own terms is not an added subject: it is deciding what is taught, who teaches it, and from where.
