Decolonizing the Mind

Afro-centric literature and art

Afrocentric literature, oral traditions, visual art and cultural production from African-descendant perspectives.

Afro-Colombian literature and art exist, are seldom taught and even less often published. Manuel Zapata Olivella, Arnoldo Palacios, Mary Grueso Romero and the oral traditions of the Pacific form a body of work that rarely reaches classrooms.

We gather, publish and circulate that production, and accompany new authors. For an Afro-Colombian child to find their world inside a book is not a detail: it is the difference between being read and not existing.
