For decades African-descendant communities were the object of research: someone arrived, took data and published far away. Community-based research inverts that relationship and recognises communities as producers of knowledge, not as sources.
We accompany research processes where the territory formulates the question, results return to it, and authorship is shared. This includes comparative research between the diaspora and the African continent.
